At this point it is just a formality. Gary Johnson will receive the nomination of the Libertarian Party on Saturday May 5 as their candidate for U.S. President. The former two term Governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003 will be the only presidential candidate in the field that’s run an Ironman Triathlon and climbed Mt Everest, and his platform of fiscal conservatism and social liberalism is similar to the views of many Independent Voters and distinct from President Obama and Mitt Romney.
